Sofia Yang (b. 1995, New York) is a contemporary painter based in New Jersey.

Raised between Eastern and Western cultures, Yang’s work reflects a lifelong engagement with in-between spaces—between body and mind, science and spirit, intimacy and distance. Self-taught as a painter, her practice is informed by surrealism, spiritual traditions, and yogic philosophy, as well as her training as a Doctor of Pharmacy.

Drawing from personal experience and close observation of the world, Yang’s paintings explore themes of longing, intimacy, loss, pain, belonging, and the search for harmony. Through symbolic softness and quiet tension, her work invites the viewer into moments of reflection, vulnerability, and shared emotional presence.
